Strength for women · F45 Cooper City

Strength training for women.Coached. No bulk. No guesswork.

F45 strength days are progressive resistance training, coached: dumbbells, kettlebells, sleds and functional racks, with a coach setting your weights and raising them as you get stronger. Plenty of the people lifting in the room are women, and the head trainer is one of them. You won't bulk up; you'll get stronger, more defined, and better at everything else you do. Your first class is free.

What a strength day looks like

You walk in and the workout is already on the screens. After a coached warm-up you rotate through timed stations: goblet squats, dumbbell presses, kettlebell swings, sled pushes, rows, lunges, loaded carries. The demo screen shows the move, the coach tells you which weight, you work for the interval, rest, rotate. Done at 45 minutes.

The part that makes it work is the coaching. Two coaches on the floor watch your form and tell you when to go up a dumbbell. That’s progressive loading, the thing that actually builds strength, done for you instead of guessed at alone in a weight room.

The bulk question, honestly

Getting big takes a lot of heavy, specific lifting and eating to support it, sustained for years. Three or four coached classes a week does something different: it adds some lean muscle, drops body fat, and changes shape rather than size. Most women notice it first as looking more defined and finding stairs, groceries and kids easier.

The bathroom scale can’t see any of this; it can go up while your body composition improves. The studio’s InBody scanner reads muscle and body fat separately, and members get two free scans a year.

Why it matters more with every decade

Muscle and bone density decline with age unless you load them, and the decline accelerates through perimenopause and after. Resistance training is the single best-supported thing you can do about it, and the earlier it becomes a habit, the easier the later decades are. If you have a medical condition or you’re postpartum, check with your doctor first, then tell the coach what you’re working around; they’ll scale the loads.

Over 40 or 50? There’s a page for that: fitness classes for over 50. Want to see what the strength work builds toward? F45 for building muscle. Never done a class like this? F45 for beginners walks through the first 45 minutes.

Straight answers

Women's strength questions

Is F45 good for women who want to get stronger?

Yes. Strength days are progressive resistance training with dumbbells, kettlebells, sleds and functional racks, and a coach sets and raises your weights over time. That's the mechanism strength needs, done in a coached room where you don't have to know what a program is.

Will lifting make me bulky?

No. Building large muscle takes years of heavy, specific training and eating for it. What consistent strength training does for most women is add some muscle, drop body fat, and make you look defined and move better. The InBody scanner at the studio shows the two numbers separately, so you can watch it happen.

I've never lifted a weight. Do I need to learn first?

No. A demo screen at every station shows the move, and two coaches walk the floor correcting form and setting your weights. You learn the movements by doing them with someone watching, which is the safest way to learn them.

Is the room mostly men?

No. Plenty of the people lifting in any F45 Cooper City class are women, and the head trainer and studio manager, Jasmine Grenfell, is one of the coaches you'll see on the floor. Nobody is watching you; everyone is on their own station, on their own timer.

Why does strength matter more after 35 or 40?

Muscle and bone density decline with age unless you load them, and the decline speeds up around perimenopause. Resistance training is the thing that slows it. If you have a medical condition, check with your doctor first, then tell the coach; they'll scale around it.

How many strength days a week?

Two or three, plus a cardio or hybrid day. The programming rotates cardio, strength and hybrid days through the week, so booking three or four classes covers it without planning.
