Hate the gym? · F45 Cooper City

You don't hate exercise. You hate open gyms.

Standing in front of a rack not knowing what to do. Feeling watched. Machines taken. Sessions with no end and no plan, and quitting in week three. None of that is exercise; it's the open-gym format. An F45 class has the workout already decided, a coach setting your weights, a demo at every station, a 45-minute clock, and a room where nobody can watch anyone because everyone is on their own station. Your first class is free, no card, nothing to cancel.

The four things people actually hate

  • Not knowing what to do. Here the workout is on the screens when you walk in, and a demo plays at every station. You never guess.
  • Being watched. Everyone is at a different station, on the same timer, then rotates. There is no moment where anyone is standing around looking at anyone.
  • Nobody caring if you show up. You book a class, a coach greets you by name, and they notice when you miss a week.
  • No end. Forty-five minutes, to the minute. Coached warm-up, timed stations, cool-down, done.

The workout is different every day, so week three doesn’t feel like week one. That’s where most gym memberships die, and it’s where this one starts to stick.

What the first class is like

You book a time, a coach texts to confirm, and you arrive 10 to 15 minutes early. A coach walks you through the stations and pairs you with someone who knows the rotations. Tell them it’s your first class and that you’re not a gym person; they hear it every day, and they’ll set you lighter than you expect. Then it’s a short warm-up, the stations, and it’s over. Showers on site.

No card on file. If it isn’t for you, that’s the end of it. If it is, memberships are month to month with no contract and no sign-up fee, so you’re never locked into something you’ve stopped using.

“I’ve never gone to a gym to workout, and never wanted to. After a couple friends told me to give F45 a try, I did and I am totally hooked. The staff is amazing, every single one of them.”

Questions from people who hate the gym

I hate the gym. Why would F45 be different?

Because almost everything people hate about the gym is about open gyms: not knowing what to do, feeling watched, machines being taken, sessions with no end. An F45 class has the workout already on the screens, a coach who sets your weights, a demo at every station, a 45-minute clock, and a room where everyone is on their own station on their own timer. What's left is the exercise, and most people find they don't hate that.

I'm self-conscious. Will people be looking at me?

No. The format makes it structurally impossible to watch anyone: every person is at a different station, working for the same interval, then rotating. The coaches are the only people looking at you, and that's to fix your form.

I've quit every gym I've joined. Why would this stick?

Because it removes the decisions. You book a class like an appointment, it starts and ends at a fixed time, the workout is planned, and a coach knows your name and notices when you've missed a week. People quit open gyms because nothing is expecting them. Something is expecting you here.

I'm really out of shape. Is this a beginner-friendly place?

Yes. Every station is scaled to the person doing it: the coach sets your weights, every jump has a step version, every run has a bike or rower option, and stations are timed rather than counted so you're never holding anyone up. Tell the coach it's your first class and they'll set you lighter than you'd set yourself.

Do I have to be 'a gym person' to fit in?

No. The reviews say it plainly: a lot of members had never wanted to set foot in a gym before this. The room is teachers, nurses, parents, retirees and a few athletes, doing their own version of the same workout.

What does it cost to find out?

Nothing. Your first class is free, with no card on file and nothing to cancel. If it isn't for you, you walk out and nobody chases you. Memberships afterward are month to month with no contract and no sign-up fee.
